XLDB Europe Workshop 2013
May 28-29 at CERN, Geneva
“Extremely Large Database Europe 2013” continues the series of invitational workshops started in 2007 with a satellite event at CERN.
The two day workshop will bring together key experts from data-intensive sciences in Europe and beyond for a discussion of real-world petabyte-scale data management and analysis use cases with the aim to foster exchange among the many emerging "big data" communities.
Located at CERN during a shutdown period of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) we will be able to profit from first-hand experience gained with LHC data and hope to have the opportunity to visit the LHC experimental areas.
In order to preserve the very successful discussion oriented style of previous XLDB workshops, we will have to limit the event to 60-70 invited participants. We aim to cover many relevant technologies and applications areas and expect participants from astronomy/astrophysics, biology, medical and life sciences, earth sciences and technology providers. If you are interested in attending, please contact us.
More details on program, registration and accommodation options will be provided soon.
